  1. Some gems from Jagan's open letter (http://sakshipost.com/index.php/news/state/24295-ys-jagan-pens-open-letter-to-public.html)

"If you cannot do ‘justice’, then you have no power to split the state"

This relates to "justice" for Andhras. No concern for justice to Telangana. In other words, get the consent of each Andhra guy in writing before forming Telangana.

"Be it the drought or floods no one pays attention to the lower riparian states"

    What about upper riparian states like Telangana? Don't they have rights?

"Overall, Hyderabad contributes Rs 40,000 crores towards state taxes, Rs 35,000 crores towards central taxes and Rs 15,000 crores of local revenues. The total yield comes to a whopping Rs. 90,000 crores"

So the story "our investments made Hyderabad grow" is false?

"Never in the past, in our entire Indian history has the Central government given the ‘State’s Capital’ to people who are wanting others to go but this injustice is unfortunately the case here"

Forgetting pre-1947 ("entire" history), it happened 4 times:

    Lahore (Punjab-Pakistan)
    Nagpur (MP-Maharashtra)
    Shillong (Assam-Meghalaya)
    Simla (post independence Punjab-HP)

Does your history start with YSR & end with Jagan?

"how will the southern parts from Kuppam to Ichchapuram (Srikakulam ) get fresh drinking water as there exists only sea water"

Dr. JP Narayan's excellent answer to this: "By their very nature, every natural resource is not equally distributed" (of course, the self proclaimed intellectual's context was different)

"Other than the justification on water, it is of paramount importance that the entire stretch of Nallamala forest is on one side of the new state. The spread of Nallamala would be from Tirupati to Badwel crossing Kadapa and Kurnool through Srisailam, Mahbubnagar and running through Achampeta and into Nalgonda through Devarakonda. This forest stretch right in the middle of the state is very important from security point of view as well.

Khammam also is in a similar situation, as the lower region of Bhadrachalam including Aswaraopeta, Pinapaka, Yellendu and Kothagudem is an extended forest.

Keeping all these in view, you would be doing justice to all stake holders if the Krishna ayacut region from southern Nalgonda parliament division, Mahbubnagar, Khammam till Indravathi are merged in to the divided lower end state after looking into the interests of Hyderabad"

Do you still have hopes in Nalgonda, Mahabubanagar & Khammam?

Of course there is also Bayyaram!

  2. Part II: Some more gems from Jagan's open letter (http://sakshipost.com/index.php/news/state/24295-ys-jagan-pens-open-letter-to-public.html)

"In situations such as these, one more surprising rumour is also doing the rounds and that is ‘Rayala Telangana’. Here at this juncture we would like to ask you a question. In the first place, why are you splitting ‘Telangana’ from Andhra Pradesh? Your answer to this would be, because of ‘Sentiment’. Then if sentiment is the yard stick, then wouldn’t ‘Rayalaseema’ people also have the same sentiment! How is it ‘right’ to split Rayalaseema into two halves?"

What right do you have to split Telangana (see above foolish demand)?

"If you divide the Krishna ayacut will it not lead to quarrels on day to day basis?"

OK, let us have one state for the entire Krishna basin with capital at Hyderabad, another for entire Godavari basin with Nagpur as capital. You can have your Pennar basin with Nellore capital.

"Once the inter state water board is set up, the projects which are dependent on surplus water in Rayalaseema region, Mahboobnagar, Nalgonda and Prakasam districts will not get even a trickle of water"

Read KWDT reports & Almatti judgment. Allocations are for states, not projects. Bachawat surplus to AP was temporary till the review only.

"Never in the past did the Centre give a state capital to someone which would lead to forceful exodus thereby causing gross injustice to people of one region"

Looks like you don't learn do you? See 4 cases I gave above.

"Please put yourself in position of the people in the state and try to visualize why 5 crore people are agitated"

Please put yourself in position of the people in Telangana and try to visualize why 3.5 crore people are agitated for the last 57 years

"we submit our resignations in protest"

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Make sure you don't get hit by the door on the way out. Oops, sorry you are already locked up. See you at the next court hearing!

  3. out of this 90000 crore income 40000 crore is with vat. remaining income comes from petrol, liquor tax.

this 40000 crore vat comes to hyderabad because there are lot of companies of andhra investors have registered offices where they pay the tax here. if state devides then they would change the sale point and you will loose a lot in this. there are lot of things like this. There is no wonder about this, all state capitals have ~50% income like this.

    1. Anon, I did not create the numbers. I quoted from Jagan's letter and responded point-by-point.

Why will investors shift just because the state is split?

How many businessmen moved from Madras to Andhra? You may note only one business moved from Kurnool to Hyderabad in 1956 (Pulla Reddy Sweets).

"all state capitals have ~50% income like this": Not all, only those that are major cities in their own right. Just see Indore vs. Bhopal, Kanpur vs. Lucknow etc.

Why is this? Whether you like it or not, Hyderabad's position is unrelated to its status as a capital.
